FAQs
So what exactly does Project May Day do?
Project May Day is a micro-nonprofit in Historic Springfield, Jacksonville, FL, and we support local nonprofits by organizing fun, creative events to raise funds and awareness. We act as a pollinator, leveraging community resources, business partnerships, and volunteer skills to amplify impact. Our goal is to make giving back an engaging experience, turning support for vital services into something exciting and memorable.
Why do people volunteer with Project May Day?
We're fortunate to be based in a neighborhood that is very social and very engaged. We decided to harness some of that energy and try to do something a little extra to help make our community a better place.
Sometimes people volunteer with us because we offer an easy-going way to get involved. Sometimes volunteering with direct service providers can be intense, or require time commitments. Sometimes people are just looking for like-minded people.
Whatever your reason is, welcome!
Why should I donate to Project May Day, and not directly to the nonprofits that Project May Day supports?
When you donate to Project May Day, you’re not just supporting one nonprofit — you’re helping us amplify impact across the community. We act as a creative funding engine, using your contribution to organize events, build awareness, and generate resources for local organizations doing life-saving work. Because we’re volunteer-run and partner closely with businesses and artists, your donation goes further — turning every dollar into both funding and visibility for the nonprofits we support. It's a ripple effect of good.
